Getting started with CloudPilot

From sign-up to a live Odoo instance in four steps.

CloudPilot deploys and runs Odoo on servers you choose. This guide takes you from a new account to a live Odoo instance.

1. Create your account

Sign up at my.cloudpilot.app. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of Starter, with no credit card required. Starter runs one Odoo instance on a CloudPilot server, so you can skip step 2; Pro and Business run on your own servers.

2. Add a server (Pro and Business)

Go to Servers → Add server and choose where Odoo will run:

  • A cloud provider: connect AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr or Akamai, and CloudPilot creates the server for you. See Connect a cloud provider.
  • Your own machine: add any Ubuntu or Debian server over SSH. See Add your own server over SSH.

Odoo needs at least 2 GB of RAM. The CloudPilot agent installs itself, and the server shows as ready when setup finishes.

3. Create an Odoo instance

Go to Instances → New instance, pick the server (Starter has none to pick), give the instance a name and choose the Odoo version. See Create an Odoo instance.

4. Add your domain and turn on backups

Your instance starts on a free subdomain with SSL. When you're ready, add your own domain and set up backups.
